Note: This category lists Greek (not
Greek and English) texts. Of course, more is available than is listed
here. I've included only the well-known and standard works. For serious
NT Greek students, all of these are required.
The Greek
New Testament: Produced at Tyndale House, Cambridge Jongkind /
Crossway / 2017 (See companion volume under Text Criticism below)
Novum Testamentum Graece, by Eberhard Nestle and Aland, Kurt (Eds.)
27th ed. (Stuttgart: Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, 1979).
Referred to as the NA27, this is the standard Greek NT in
use today by scholars. It is pocket sized and easy to carry. Contains
an English introduction, but this edition assumes a scholarly audience.
The critical apparatus is designed for scholars.
The Greek New Testament, Kurt Aland; Matthew Black; Martini,Carlo
M; Metzger,Bruce M; Wikgren,Allen (Eds.) 4th ed. (New York: United
Bible Societies; ISBN: 3438051109, 1993).
Often called the UBS4, this Greek New Testament has the
same Greek text as the NA27 above, although the punctuation is
sometimes different. Is designed especially for translators. The
Textual apparatus at the bottom of each page lists fewer textual
variants than NA27, but it generally gives more information on the
variants it does list.
A
Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, by Bruce M
Metzger,Corrected edition (New York/London: United Bible Societies,
1975).
Commentary on the textual apparatus of the UBS4 Greek NT.
A very helpful volume since it gives a running commentary on
the textual variants at the bottom of each page of the UBS4 Greek NT.
This helps one understand why some readings are judged to be "in" or
"out" of the present day Greek NT.
Synopsis Quattuor Evangeliorum. ed. by Kurt Aland. 13th ed.
(Stuttgart: Wurttembergische Bibelanstalt, 1985 3rd corrected printing
in 1988):
Synopsis of the four Gospels in Greek. One of the best
available and the standard synopsis in scholarship.
Greek & Latin,
Novum Testamentum Graece Et Latine A. Nestle / 1983.
Scholars edition. The same as NA27, but with the Latin
text on the facing page. The Greek text is that of the Nestle-Aland
27th edition; the Latin is that of the 1986 Nova Vulgata.
Septuaginta, ed. by Alfred Rahlfs. (New York: American Bible
Society, 1935):
The OT in Greek in a handy sized one volume edition.
Greek New Testament and Hebrew Bible in 1 volume:
Biblia Sacra Utriusque Testamenti Edition Hebraica et Graeca.
This book is apparently out of print. But if you could
find it, it is very handy for those who work in both Greek and Hebrew.
The "Novum Testamentum Graece" of the Nestle-Aland, 27th edition, and
the photomechanically reduced edition of the "Biblia Hebraica
Stuttgartensia" are combined in one volume. 1994. 13.4 x 18.7 cm. 2547
p. For the order number see the UBS information page.

NRSV, NIV, & Greek (Parallel) The
Greek New Testament : Ubs4 With Nrsv & Niv ~ John R., III
Kohlenberger (Editor) / Hardcover / 1993
A handsome volume with a center column Greek text normally
in italics (which makes it a little hard to see). Other wise, a helpful
comparison of two popular versions. Helpful introduction. There are no
word studies or commentary notes. [GDC]
RSV & Greek, (Parallel)
Synopsis of the Four Gospels : Greek-English Edition Kurt Aland
(Editor) / Hardcover / 1979)
For close study of the Synoptic Gospels. A very handy
volume! Greek and English are on facing pages. One of the best parallel
Gospels in print. [GDC]

Beginning Grammars
There are as many beginning grammars
as there are Greek teachers! Following are a few that I
have used as text-books. (I've personally used 8
different beginning grammars as the primary teaching text) Also I've listed one classical beginning grammar.

Testament Greek as a Spiritual Discipline, Gary D. Collier (Dialogē Press, 2019)--TBA
Top List
Learn to Read New Testament Greek, David Alan Black (Broadman and
Holman Publishers, 1994). A no-nonsense, simple, to the point
grammar with good charts. Linguistically sound. My current preference.
Basics of Biblical Greek, William D. Mounce (Zondervan,
1993, now in 4th edition). Generally good grammar although verbs are not introduced
until page 115! Mounce goes out of his way to make the text
usable and easy to follow.
New Testament Greek, Gerald Stevens (Unversity Press of America,
2nd edition, 1997) Good text, lots of charts, large Greek font,
better workbook examples than Mounce. A good reference grammar
for beginning Greek.
Fundamentals of New Testament Greek, Stanley Porter
Other Beginning Grammars
Decker, Goetchius, Croy, Hewett, Voelz, Adam, Hale, Mills, Countryman, Roberts
Grammars widely used, but now dated: Machen, Summers
Classical Grammars

Grammar from Original Texts (2 vols), Gunther Zuntz. ISBN
1-85075-341-5 Shefield Academic Press. (Note:
This book is not listed with Amazon.com so I have directed this link to
BarnesandNoble.com.) This is the
introductory Greek grammar from one of the world's leading Greek
scholars (1909-1992). Not for the faint of heart, the impatient
of spirit, or the lazy of eyes!

Intermediate Greek Grammars
The following intermediate grammars
discuss practical matters of Greek grammar and syntax of the Greek New
Testament. Many examples of specific texts help to illustrate the
points being made. These are all non-technical discussions though well
grounded in a knowledge of advanced grammar. They are quite useful.

A
Grammatical Analysis of the Greek New Testament Max Zerwick, Mary
Grosvenor, 3rd revised from the 3rd German ed. Editrice Pontificio
Istituto Biblico, Roma./ Paperback / 1996
Selected grammatical notes on the Greek NT in book,
chapter, and verse order. Very handy as a reading tool along side a
Greek New Testament. However, often the notes are so scanty as to be
frustrating for beginners. The book is keyed to the next book.
Biblical Greek Maximilian Zerwick, Translated by Joseph Smith.
Editrice Pontificio Istituto Biblico, Roma./ Paperback / (1963, 3rd
reprint, 1987).
Main grammar for the previous book (i.e., Grammatical
Analysis of the Greek NT), its companion volume. Together these are
useful reading and study tools.
A
Linguistic Key to the Greek New Testament, Rienecker, Fritz;
translated and edited by Cleon Rogers, Jr. (Grand Rapids: Zondervan,
1980)
Selected notes on the Greek NT by book, chapter, and
verse. Elaborates a bit more than Zerwick; has numerous errors.
Helpful, but one must be careful with this.

The Student's Complete Vocabulary Guide to the Greek New Testament :
Complete Frequency Lists, Cognate Groupings & Principal Parts
Warren C. Trenchard / Paperback / 1992
A handy and complete reference tool for NT Greek
vocabulary. Not as well suited as an aid to learning vocabulary as
Bernard Scott's book. However, better suited as a broad reference tool
for looking up forms and cognates. For those with a limited vocabulary,
this tool could be very helpful. It contains complete frequency lists,
cognate groupings, and principal parts of NT verbs
Reader's Greek English Lexicon of the New Testament - Sakae Kubo;
Library Binding Zondervan, Grand Rapids (1980)
Excellent! A very handy tool for reading NT Greek,
especially for those with a limited vocabulary. Word lists of all words
occurring 50 times or less in the Greek NT are arranged by book,
chapter, verse, and word order. Also includes a beginners guide for
translation and other notes. Good as an intermediate readers guide.
For those who would like to build a large vocabulary (who
would like to actually read the Greek NT)
Reading New Testament Greek : Complete Word Lists and Reader's Guide
Bernard Brandon Scott, et al / Paperback / 1993
Helpful in learning every NT word occurring
10 times or more, and as a reference tool for reading every NT text
with words occurring 9 times or less contextually. Helpful
paradigm charts and index. An ideal book for someone wanting to learn
every Greek word in the NT!
Mastering Greek Vocabulary Thomas A. Robinson / Paperback / 1994
Built entirely around cognate groupings. This book is
best for those who have a basic vocabulary already. Helpful charts and
index. Several special lists that are helpful.

Remember: A good Bible
software program for your computer will outdo any printed
concordance! Still, having a good concordance handy can be very useful.
The Exhaustive Concordance to the Greek New Testament ~ John R.
Kohlenberger, et al / Hardcover / 1995
The most complete--and least expensive--concordance to the
Greek New Testament, this book is an exhaustive index to every Greek
word in the New Testament, based on the standard United Bible
Societies' Greek text (UBS4).
The Greek English Concordance to the New Testament : With the New
International Version ~ John R., Kohlenberger, et al / Hardcover /
1997
Presents in alphabetical order every word in the Greek New
Testament along with, in English, the passages in which the word
occurs. Unlike the older Englishman's Greek Concordance to the New
Testament, it is exhaustive and contains many new features.
Handkonkordanz zum griechischen Neuen Testament.
by Alfred Schmoller (1997).
- Regular edition (approx. 6x9): Revised by
Beate Koster at the Institut fur neutestamentliche Textforschung
[Institute for New Testament Textual Research] in Munster/Wesphalia ed.
German Bible Society, Munster. For the order number, see the UBS information page.
For ordering information, see above under "Texts".
- Pocket edition:
I recommend this one.
Concordance to the Greek NT based on UBS 3 and NA 26. A revision of the
1938 version. This is a very handy Greek tool.
A
Concordance to the Greek Testament : According to the Texts of Westcott
and Hort, Tischendorf and the English Revisers ~ Moulton and Geden
(Editor), et al / Hardcover / 1997.
This concordance has been used for years as the most
affordable and available Greek NT concordance. It is certainly still
usable, but notice that it is based upon the Westcott-Hort Greek text.
For an up-to-date Greek concordance, see Kohlenberger.
A
Concordance to the Septuagint : And the Other Greek Versions of the Old
Testament (Including the Apocryphalbooks) ~ (2 vols) Edwin Hatch,
Henry A. Redpath / Hardcover / 1998
Very useful, but again: any good Bible software program
will be better than this. Just make sure you get the Septuagint on your
software!
Watch Out!
Young's Analytical Concordance to the Bible : Revised - Robert
Young; Hardcover
In my opinion, hands down better than Strongs for doing
word studies. But then in my opinion, neither of them should be used!
(Although both are better than Crudens!) Easier to use when doing word
studies for Greek and Hebrew than Strongs. Of course, it is based on
the KJV and is good for seeing how the KJV translates certain Greek
words.
The New Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible Comfort Print
Edition : Completely New Enlarged Type Including Greek and Hebrew
Dictionaries ~ James Strong / Hardcover / 1995
What can I say! I think this should be burned! But here
it is, if you want it. My advice is, use the Greek you've learned (or
learn some) and get away from this old stuff. Besides, using
Kohlenberger's Greek-English concordance is far easier and more
accurate.
